Helpful Links
FAA Commercial Pilot - Airplane ACS Standards
Before each lesson it helps to go over the tolerances for each maneuver
Through the course of your training you will commit the ACS tolerances to memory
14 CFR Β§ 61.129 - Aeronautical experience Requirements
I suggest reading and understanding this section carefully rather than using online requirement summaries
Pay particular attention to the solo, cross country, and night requirements be prepared to talk about these
It helps to create a binder and print out your logbook entries [or flag them] for each of the requirements
Pre-flight Procedures checklist.
Itβs helpful to use the checklist especially practice performing a strong preflight briefing for passengers.
I like to segment checklists with line breaks, if you get distracted or interrupted, you only need to restart that specific section
Commercial DHC-2 Maneuvers
I suggest recreating or rewriting your own lesson plans to help you learn the maneuvers. When you create them, refer to the ACS for the commercial tolerances of each maneuver
The lesson plans below have small tweaks to accommodate how I performed the commercial maneuvers in the DHC-2. The DHC-2 for example can perform a chandelle quite easily at 30β/2kRPM.
The 6 lesson plans below do not include all of the maneuvers, please refer to the ACS for other maneuvers you will need to learn such as slow flight, accelerated stalls, and commercial steep turns
Oral Exam Preparation
Commercial Pilot Oral Exam Guide
This guide is helpful to practice with another pilot friend or with your CFI
Do not use this as your only prep for the Oral exam, you should also carefully study holding out and systems specific to your airplane.
